Silent Law rockets to victory in Anoakia S.

Saturday | October 26, 2024

Silent Law made short work of her three foes in the $100,000 Anoakia S. Oct. 25 at Santa Anita Park to win her stakes debut and remained undefeated in her two lifetime starts for trainer Bob Baffert.

Silent Law flew from the gate and had a two-length lead in just a few strides. Despite not being urged by jockey Juan Hernandez, the 2-year-old filly rolled through fractions of :21.64 and :44.65. Still under a hand ride in the stretch, she coasted through the lane to win by 3 ½-lengths in 1:11.11 for the six-furlongs on a fast track.

“She is extremely quick. [Juan] said she broke and just takes off,” said Baffert. “She wouldn’t relax so he was trying to hold her back as much as he could. I’m thinking maybe we take the blinkers off her, maybe that will settle her down.”

Owned by the CSLR Racing Partners, Silent Law won her Sept. 21 debut by 10 lengths. She has now banked $79,460 in her two victories.
