Private Mission gave trainer Bob Baffert his sixth winner of the $100,000 Torrey Pines S. (G3) Saturday at Del Mar Race Track.

The 3-year-old filly, who was a $750,000 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky yearling in 2019, has won three of her four starts for Baoma Corp. and earned $136,800.

Private Mission, who was making both her graded stakes and two-turn debut, pressed Lady Mystify through a half-mile in :46.71. She took the lead midway on the final turn, then quickly drew off and was all alone down the lane. She finished the distance in 1:37.89 under a hand ride, with the winning margin officially 6 1/2-lengths.

“We’ve been wanting to try her two turns,” Baffert said. “She won with plenty left.”

Bred by Mt. Brilliant Thoroughbreds, Private Mission is out of the stakes winner Private Gift, whose siblings include Kentucky Oaks (G1) winner Secret Status and multiple graded winner Alumni Hall.
