Bob Baffert was one of seven nominees selected to be inducted in the class of 2018 to the Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame.

The Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame has been in operation since 1963 and is overseen by the Louisville Sports Commission. This class was picked by a 15-member committee comprised of sports media throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky and were honored on Aug. 22 at the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville.

Baffert became just the second thoroughbred trainer to condition two Triple Crown winners this year when the undefeated Justify captured the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont S. American Pharoah won the 2015 Triple Crown and was eventually named Horse of the Year.

Baffert was inducted into the National Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame in 2009 and into his native state’s Arizona Sports Hall of Fame in 2010, and Lone Star Park’s Hall of Fame in 2007.

Among Baffert’s other notable career accomplishments are winning the Eclipse Award for leading trainer on four occasions, twice winning the Big Sport of Turfdom award, having six winners of the Kentucky Derby and four Horse of the Year champions.
