Baffert 3yos dead heat for win in Shared Belief S.

In what is surely a very rare occurrence for any trainer, Bob Baffert’s duo of Tahoe Sunrise and Mr Fisk finished in a dead heat for first in Sunday’s $125,000 Shared Belief S. at Del Mar.
The one-mile race for 3-year-olds started out with Tahoe Sunrise controlling the pace on the front end, getting the first half-mile in :46.10, while Mr Fisk was last in the field of six, about five lengths from the leader.
Tahoe Sunrise continued to lead around the turn and into the stretch, but Mr Fisk began closing in with three furlongs to go. The pacesetter still had a two-length lead in midstretch, but Mr Fisk closed strongly and the pair hit the finish line on even terms.
Tahoe Sunrise is owned by Mike Pegram, Karl Watson and Paul Weitman. This was the son of American Pharoah’s first stakes win, upping his mark to 2-1-2 in five starts and earnings to $126,360.
Mr Fisk is owned by his breeder Sunny Brook Stables LLC. The Shared Belief also is his first stakes win and improved his record to 2-2-0 in seven starts, with earnings of $125,700.
