Adare Manor cruises in Zenyatta S. (G2), Breeders’ Cup next

Adare Manor extended her winning streak to five, the last four in graded stakes, with a dominating score in Sunday’s $200,000 Zenyatta S. (G2) at Santa Anita Park.

Baffert has now won the Zenyatta a record six times, including the three most recent runnings.

Adare Manor has been perfect since an allowance win in late March, and was at the top of her game in the Zenyatta. Facing just three foes, she went to the lead at the start and was never pressured at any point of the 1 1/16-mile contest. She had a two-length lead at the midway point, and widened that out to 5 ¼-lengths as she galloped under the finish line.

“She just keeps improving and we wanted to see something like this to see if we were going to take a crack at the Breeders’ Cup. So I think if she comes out of it well, we will go for it,” Baffert said after the facile win.

The winner is owned by Michael Lund Petersen and is now 7-4-0 in 13 starts, with earnings of $981,600.
